We are the only public ceramics studio in London to offer Drop-ins every day from 9am to 9pm as an alternative to a monthly membership. Whether you choose a Drop-In Member Plan or Drop-In Monthly Membership, you are still a Member of Dalston Clay. This way you can feel part of our community from your first session with us.
Our Drop-Ins are 3hrs in duration with the exception of evening sessions and Sundays Clay Day drop-ins which are include optional yoga, meditation and yoga nidra. You can reschedule or cancel anytime up to the start of your Drop-In in your members account.
Although there is usually somebody at the studio for technical help, our Drop-In sessions are unguided so to make the most of your sessions please read on...

To have completed at least one of the following options:

A Six-week course at Dalston Clay + Studio Induction

Two Taster sessions, Wheel Throwing sessions or Clay Days + Glazing Tutorial + Studio induction.

Long-form classes at any other studio + Studio induction.

Sufficient experience with your own ceramics practice + Studio Induction

To have digitally signed the studio liability form which is automatically sent when you book your induction with us.

To feel confident working without guidance and to be potentially working on your own in the studio if no-one is present.

Member Plan

Cost-effective plans of 3,5 or 10 sessions that last up to 12 months: Ideal if you are busy, travel frequently or just prefer the occasional session.

Three hour sessions available daily, seven days a week (with occasional exceptions)

All Drop-Ins need to purchase their own bag of clay to work with. We stock high-quality stoneware clay at £15 per 12.5kg bag. Your bag gives you plenty of clay to explore with!

If you'd like your finished pieces fired and glazed, there's an additional charge of £3 per kilo. This covers both bisque and glaze firings to get your work fully Processed.

As a CIC and Social Enterprise, it is our intention to make Dalston Clay a studio that is available to everyone, regardless of financial circumstance. While we need to function as a business, we never want money to be the reason why someone can't benefit from what we've built.
