About the practices during Clay Day:Â
All the practices we offer at Dalston Clay are chosen specifically to enhance your "Creative Wellbeing". Â We believe that everyone has something in them that is itching to get out and express itself, and the more we supress this, the more unhappy we can become. Â Its hard to find a safe place for this to happen so that we dont feel judged or expected to be someone that we are not. Â Â What ever shape, colour or mood you are in; whatever whacky ideas you have, at Dalston Clay we want you to feel free to be yourself JUST THE WAY YOU ARE. Â
Yoga
Yoga is the perfact way to start any day and kick start you into being generally Fab. Â The physical postures of yoga help to release tension in the body, promoting relaxation and a greater flow of energy. By integrating breathwork and mindfulness, yoga cultivates a state of present-moment awareness, reducing mental clutter and allowing for increased creativity and fresh perspectives to arise.
Meditation
At Dalston Clay we lead simple mindfulness Meditation sessions which are proven to enhance creativity. Â The practice of meditation cultivates a state of calm and focus that promotes heightened awareness and receptivity to new ideas. By quieting the mind and reducing stress, it creates a conducive environment for creative thinking, fostering clarity, and enhancing problem-solving abilities.Â
Ceramics
The practice of ceramics is good for wellbeing as it engages both the mind and body in a creative and meditative process. The tactile nature of working with clay can promote relaxation, reduce stress, and provide a sense of grounding. The focus and concentration required in ceramics can also create a state of flow, leading to a sense of fulfillment, accomplishment, and increased overall wellbeing.
Yoga Nidra
We close with an ancient lying down meditation called Yoga Nidra which enhances creativity by promoting deep relaxation and accessing the subconscious mind. Through the guided meditation and visualization techniques of Yoga Nidra, we can tap into our intuitive and imaginative capacities, unlocking new insights and fostering creative inspiration. Â Â We close with Yoga Nidra so that we can relax and let go after expending all that energy during the days creative activities.Â
...and if you havn't guessed by now, the combination of these three practices in one MARVELOUS day is MAGIC!
