Emma Ohlstein
Emma is an artist and designer; her portfolio contains many different mediums such as graphic design, ceramics, and sculpture. While she loves creating new work, her favorite medium to work with is ceramics. The ability to use the clay to create new experimental forms while being useful pieces of work fascinates her. Emma’s ceramic work aims to capture the essence, and energy of life rooted in wanderlust and exploration of both the planet and one’s self.

Ben Nichols
Ben is a London-based potter from rural Kent, drawn to the wheel since childhood. His practice centers on deep respect for clay's versatility and responsiveness, creating pieces that balance intention with spontaneity—blending traditional technique and contemporary design.
After studying Ceramic Design at Central Saint Martins, he continued evolving his work across London studios, producing, experimenting, and teaching. He's passionate about creating functional yet expressive pieces and helping others discover clay's tactile, meditative process. He aims to foster creative spaces that encourage curiosity, skill-building, and meaningful connection to craft.

As a CIC and Social Enterprise, it is our intention is to make Dalston Clay a studio that is available to everyone, regardless of financial circumstance. While we need to function as a business, we never want money to be the reason why someone can't benefit from what we've built. If you truly can't afford the full cost of our offerings, we invite you to contact us to discuss your situation and we will endeavour to sort something out.
