Learn the basics of Wheel throwing and Handbuilding with mince pies and mulled wine :)
WHAT TO EXPECT
This is a two and a half hour taster session for up to 14 people led by a wheel throwing teacher and a hand building teacher. Participants can choose to follow a brief instruction and learn the various techniques of hand building with clay (pinching, coiling, slab-building), a brief introduction to the wheel, or continue projects from previous sessions. This session is a great way to spend your weekday evening with like-minded people all wanting to hang out and learn from each other through making. Clay and equipment are included in the class price. Glazing and firing is not included: There will be an extra firing fee of starting at £5 (Mug size) £10 (small vase) or £15 (Fruit bowl or large vase). Participants that wish to return within one month can have their items just bisque fired so they can come back to glaze with our extensive range of brush on glazes. To learn how to glaze you can book a glazing session at 6pm weds and fri. Participants that cannot return to glaze their work can paint their work with coloured clay slip at the end of the session (which we will glaze clear) or have their items glazed with satin white glaze. Please note: Projects that are left in the studio for longer than 2 months will be discarded.
